SHERRY

My profession is a Broker-Realtor for ReMax Cross Country.  In 2015 God blessed my work with a banner year which enabled me to take a short sabatical to do the one think I cherish most, study scripture and write.   I am truly blessed . . . and filled with Joy!  I am currently writing three different books about the Bible.  I will be finished when God says I am!

I was born and raised in Mississippi and attended a tiny Southern Baptist church. With 32 members, I was there almost from the moment I came home from the hospital.  I was adopted as an infant and raised by my older great aunt and uncle who were truly wise in the ways of the Lord, they were Daddy and Mother to me.  God allowed me to play the piano by ear at 5 and then to learn to read music.  One of mine and my Daddy’s great joys were the gospel singings every Saturday night.  Daddy was the adult Sunday School teacher, Mother taught Junior Sunday School and Pa-Paw led worship while I played piano.  I learned to love the Lord in those beloved pews and with all the ups and downs of life, I am closer to Him today than I have ever been, but not as close as I will be for Eternity, I pray.

Daddy and Mother had a small little farm in central Mississippi.  This gave me a front row seat to the majesty of God’s creation.  We were daily dependent upon God’s grace and mercy, not only emotionally and spiritually, but physically and literally.  If the corn, hay and vegetables did not grow the food for man and animals was limited, but God is faithful and we always managed.  I learned first hand God’s insistence upon like kind, brings like kind.  Never did a horse produce a lamb, nor a cow produce a goat.  God designed creation and we are to follow His order.

Daddy was a farmer first, then a plumber,  electrician and a handyman.  I idolized him and did my level best to make every step he made.  If he plowed the fields, I stretched my little legs to step where he’d stepped and when he fed the cows, hogs and horses so did I.  I learned to milk into a soup can so I could give milk to the kittens!  I was his shadow and from him I learned the necessity of a strong foundation, both in a house, a farm and in your spiritual life.  If the foundation is crooked or weak – neither the building or the person can stand straight and strong.  Hard work was expected and the glory was always given to the one from whom all things came.

I could write lengthy stories of the issues of abandonment, but the stories that are meaningful to me are those I lived which speak always to the faithfulness of God the Father when I was the least deserving of all creatures.  His Grace, His Mercy and His Faithfulness are my testimony, my strength and my encouragement to you.

I have been blessed to study with men and women of God in many denominations and faiths and learned from all of them.  My classroom has been life, my teacher the Holy Spirit and His willing assistants the men and women who love and share His Word.  I hope to return the favor.

I pray that I may earn the right to speak into your life through my writing.  If I am allowed to do so, it will be my great privilege.

Thanks for taking time for me . . .

BLESSINGS,

Sherry Driskell Griffin
